Get “In The Mix” on KL Radio

“In The Mix” began in September 2020, as a means for DJs to showcase their skills on internet radio station ‘KL Radio’, as opposed to via livestreams on social media.

Initially, “In The Mix” would broadcast between 11pm and 1am on a Friday and Saturday night each week.

It then progressed to broadcasting 7 nights a week, between midnight and 6am (UK time) Sunday to Thursday, and 11pm to 7am Friday and Saturday.

From 5th July 2021, “In The Mix on KL Radio” becomes a sister channel to the existing KL Radio, with both broadcasting globally, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 

There are over 100 DJs  registered from around the world, from Idaho to Indonesia, from Mexico to Malaysia and loads of places in between.

It’s pretty straightforward – all we need you to do is complete the registration form at the bottom of the page, and then hit ‘Submit’

You’ll be taken to a new page, where you will be able to access a Dropbox folder, containing some KL Radio DJ drops – you should use some of these during your set to authenticate it.

You can also get your own personal DJ drops if you wish, although we don’t provide these for you

Quite simply, no.

It’s completely FREE to have your mix played on KL Radio – we provide you with free-to-air, fully-licenced radio server access AND the chance to showcase your skills to a potentially GLOBAL audience, without charging you a thing

If you already do live streams, the chances are that you will have everything that you need.

If you are submitting a pre-recorded mix, your DJing software should allow you to record your set.

You can also use free download software, such as Audacity or BUTT.

NB: You can also broadcast using BUTT

You CANNOT broadcast to our Shoutcast server using OBS

You can play any genre you like!

We have themed nights through the week, even for more ‘leftfield’ genres, so if you feel experimental, go for it!

We need sets of between 57 and 60 minutes, which are ‘radio-friendly’ (e.g. no profanities or ‘hate’ lyrics), and are original mixes (e.g. not previously broadcasted or uploaded elsewhere)

1. Mixes should be no more than 60 minutes in length – sets shorter than 57 minutes will not be considered, and any which are longer will be truncated to ‘fit in’ with the scheduling around it.
2. Sets should not contain any profanities/explicit material
3. ALL music contained in your set must be owned by you, and not from a streaming source, or be pirated – KL RADIO DOES NOT ENDORSE THE BREACH OF COPYRIGHT, AND REMINDS DJs OF THE POTENTIAL FOR A £10,000 FINE AND POSSIBLE CUSTODIAL SENTENCE UNDER U.K. LAW
4. Your mix must be original, and provided solely for the purposes of KL Radio and “In the Mix”, unless agreed in advance
5. We request that your submitted sets SHOULD NOT be uploaded to your Mixcloud, Soundcloud, etc accounts, until AFTER the set has been aired on KL Radio.  The intention is to provide a platform for original content, which has not already been shared on the internet. 
6. We will share your sets widely on all of our associated social media platforms once the mix has been broadcast, and you have uploaded it to Mixcloud etc – we operate an ethos of ‘Listen, Like, Share, Listen Again’ to open you up to as many listeners and followers as possible – you also agree to us uploading your mix, either from your Mixcloud/Soundcloud account, or as a direct upload from an MP3 file to the KL Radio account on the Hearthis.at website
7. You MUST NOT promote any other radio stations or streaming channels, during your set – you can however promote your own Facebook Page, Mixcloud, Soundcloud, Twitch, etc occasionally throughout
8. You will be invited to join our community’s chat group on Facebook, although it is not mandatory for you to join, or participate.  If you are in the chat group, do not bring ego, judgement or hate.  Our community is a supportive and respectful one.  Anyone acting in ANY behaviour which is not considered to be in line with the general ethos of KL Radio, will be removed from the chatroom, and will have any existing residency arrangement terminated immediately
